James H. Brown Sr
Founder
James Henry Brown, Sr. started his real estate career in 1957 with Shepherd Realty Company. In 1961 he became Property Manager for the Washington Terrace Apartment Complex. Mr. Brown became a Sale Agent in 1966 for John W. Winters Company and sold many house in the Biltmore Hills and Rochester Heights subdivisions. In 1970 Henry started his own company, Brown Realty Company.
In addition to his real estate career, he was very active in church, civic and political groups. In 1973 Henry was the Campaign Manager for the first African-American Mayor of Raleigh, Clarence Lightner. He was the Finance Director for Dan Blue's campaigns for the State House in 1978 and 1980.
Mr. Brown helped organize the Capital Economic Development Corporation and the Downtown Raleigh Housing Improvement Corporation. The Jaycees' named him Boss of the Year in 1991.
Prior to his death in 2007, Mr. Brown developed Brown Realty Company LLC to be one of the leading business in the real estate field

Barbara T. Brown - President
Barbara did a career change in July, 1998 when she joined Brown Realty Company LLC . She has a degree in Public Administration/Criminal Justice from Shaw University. Barbara received additional training/knowledge in the real estate field from Fonville Morisey School of Real Estate, Superior School of Real Estate, Raleigh Housing Authority, and Pan School of Real Estate and Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors.
She has over 20 years experience in the real estate field.
At Brown Realty Company LLC she is the Manager/Broker-in-Charge.
The Property Management Division (Residential and Commercial) is under her supervision. You will always be able to a quick response to any question regarding the management of your property.
